Ordering information

Please note: I will be gone to the Denver show from Sept. 7th until Sept. 21st and will not be able to ship anything until Sept. 22.

1. Select the minerals you want, noting the item #, short description and price of each one. This site does not employ a shopping cart.

2. You can go to the Order Form and fill it out. This will generate an email. I will email you back within 48 hours regarding availablity of specimens, shipping costs and a total.

3. You can call me at 517 294-6709. This is my cell phone and I make a point to always have it on me. If not, leave a voicemail.

4. You can email at mwminerals@comcast.net.

Reserving specimens

I will reserve a specimen as soon I am contacted and am able to get online. The status will be changed to Sale Pending. The status will remain Sale Pending until payment has cleared (the amount of time this takes can vary upon method of payment). Once payment has cleared, the specimen will be taken from the site.

What happens when more than one person requests a specimen before it's status is set to Sale Pending.

The first person gets the specimen. If there are 2 or more emails, the date/time stamp will be used to determine the "winner". If someone calls me, I will note the time (easy with a cell phone) and check it against any emails. I will get back with everyone who places an order ASAP.

Payment Options

The perferred payment method is Paypal. You will have five days to make a Paypal payment after I send you your confirmation email.

Payment inside the U.S. can also be made by check drawn on a U.S. bank or with a U.S. Postal Service money order.

I am able to process credit/ debit cards. This is done via a virtual terminal. I will need all the usual information. The information can be sent via email (usual via 2 to increase security) or over the phone.

Shipping Policy and Prices

In general, your specimens will be mailed as soon as possible after payment is made and by the most cost efficent means possible.  After you have placed an order, I will email you the price of shipping.

Usually, items within the U.S. will be shipped via First Class Mail for smaller items and Priority mail for larger items (over 13 oz.).  You will be charged what I pay the Postal Service plus a nominal fee for supplies.  All shipments will include delivery confirmation. On shipments of over $50, insurance will also be purchased.

If overseas, your package will be sent airmail as a "mineralogical specimen for scientific study". By law I must list the value of the specimen as the same what you are paying. I will charge you the actual shipping price I pay the Post Office plus a $1.00  for supplies. I can insure and list value of items if you want, but you have to pay the extra. Because of problems with the postal service in some countries, I will have to charge to have the shipment Registered (this costs $12.50).

You will be emailed as to when your order is shipped.

Occasionally, I will be gone more than a week at a show. If possible, my wife will ship your items. If this is not possible, you will receive an email asking for your patience. Likewise, you  will be emailed  if there are any other delays (it snows in Michigan and we occasionally get snowed in for a day or two).
