Mineral Specimen #976 Smithsonite variety: Cuprian
Kelly Mine, Magdalena District, Socorro Co., New Mexico, USA
Although there is only a small pocket of uncontacted Smithsonite in the middle of this specimen, that portion has an extremely high luster for which the Kelly mine is noted. The color is a rich, pretty, light green (the color is a little less green in person than in these pictures and a bit more attractive). There is no damage in the central pocket of the specimen.
