Mineral Specimen #928 Sartorite, Realgar, Pyrite
Lengenbach Quarry, Im Feld, Binn Valley, Wallis (Valais), Switzerland
Type Location
PbAs2S4
This specimen contains a rare sulfosalt, Sartorite, from its type location. Although most of the Sartorite is the massive silver gray material, there is one crystal on the side and crystal faces in one vug (see the close-ups). The crystals are not terminated. Some of the Sartorite has a blue iridescent tarnish. Associated with red Realgar and Pyrite in a massive Quartz matrix. There is also some gemmy, yellow material which is likely Spahlerite. The specimen has been glued onto styrofoam inside a perky box.
