Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park Co, Colorado

This is a single crystal of Rhodochrosite exhibiting the exceptional color for which the Sweet Home Mine is noted (better in person). The bottom is a cleavage plane. The edges and corners are naturally rounded. In good condition with no appreciable wear, but numerous small internal fractures on the edges and corners which causes the color to lighten.
