Mineral Specimen #788 Halite on Branches of Shrub
Jamaica
Ex. Philadelphia Academy of Sciences, Ex.A. E. Foote
This is actually a small section which was removed from a much larger specimen because it was loose. The larger specimen had a A. E. Foote label glued to the trunk of the small shrub upon which the Halite crystals formed. The specimen is from the late 1800s. Neither a museum card or the Foote label are available for this specimen; the price of the specimen has been set strictly according to the value of the specimen regardless of its provenance. The specimen is slightly fragile and it is possible a cube or two could fall off in shipment from the area where the wood is exposed.
