Auglaze Quarry, Defiance, Ohio, USA

This specimen has a vug of beautiful Fluorite which is a dark, clear brown with bright blue to purple iridescent surfaces. A few of the cubes are a clear purple. Unfortunately, this material is generally hard to find at the quarry and only found sporadically. This specimen was collected by John Medici, one of the foremost field collectors in the midwest of the US. The specimen is in excellent condition with no damage to the Fluorite in the main vug although there is a small cleaved Calcite crystal in a small vug at the side.
