This specimen is a group of connected, double terminated Amethyst crystals. This grouping is unusual for the location where most specimens are crystals growing upwards from a matrix. Although it looks like a floater, there is one small point of attachment. Specimens from this mine are usually labeled as being from Las Vigas. Pierda Parada is actually the closest village to the mine; Las Vigas is where the miners sell lots of amethyst to the gringo mineral dealers. The specimen is in excellent condition although the color is a bit pale. Note: In person, the color is more uniform and less vivid on the tips and more vivid in the middle of the crystals.
