Richterite is present on the specimen ranging from massive to thin, needle like crystals. The color of the Richterite is olive green in a range of shades with the thinnest crystals the lightest. From the style of the label, this appears to be an older specimen. Luiz worked at this mine as a mining engineer prior to becoming a mineral dealer. The host rock, Jacupirangite, is a type of ijolite, a term used to refer to any plutonic rock containing nepheline and 30-60% mafic minerals. Jacupirangite is one of the more mafic varieties of ijolite.
