Mineral Specimen #684    Variscite

Fairfield, Oquirrh Mts, Utah Co., Utah, USA

This rectangular slab contains numerous nodules of Varscite. The Varscite occurs in two distinct shades of green. The specimen appears to have been coated to enhance its appearance. Curiously, the coating creates a shiny coating only on certain surfaces. The brighter green nodules are the shiniest and matrix has no shine at all.
