Mineral Specimen #680    Fluorite with included Sphalerite

Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA

This light purple colored Fluorite cube grew on a ridge of red, semi-gemmy Sphalerite which is now included in it. Although the Fluorite is not totally transparent, it is clear enough to see the red Sphalerite. The specimen is in good condition with just a very small cleave on one corner.
