Mineral Specimen #679 Dolomite
Panasqueira Mines, Panasqueira, Covilha, Castelo Branco District, Portugal
These Dolomite crystals are well formed and are an off white color with a hint of pink. The crystals have a high luster. The larger crystals are over 1.5 cm on an edge. There is a frosting of black material which is so small that even with a 10x loupe I cannot distinguish what it is. On the bottom of the specimen, there are also tops of a couple of yellow green Siderite crystals. The specimen is in fair condition, with two blades with slight damage which is noticeable only because of the missing black overcoat.
