Mn²⁺Ta₂O₆

Tantalite-Mn crystals embedded in massive, gray colored Quartz. The color of the Tantalite crystals is highly subject to the angle of view and ranges from brown to quitred. The red color is seen when the flat surface of the crystals is viewed directly straight on and brown from other angles. The red color appears to be due to reflected internal light. The crystals have a high, nearly metallic like luster luster.

Condition: Fairly Good

Flaws: None of the Tantalite crystals are complete-
