Mineral Specimen #6693 Copper Crystals with Epidote
Caledonia Mine, Ontonagon Co., Michigan
7.9 x 5.2 x 1.5 cm
3.1 x 2 x 0.6 in

Crudely formed, but relatively large Copper crystals with pitted surfaces. The crystals are partially flattened indicating they grew in a restricted environment such as a crack in the basalt. There is also some minor green colored Epidote in the recessed areas between the crystals on one side. Please note: the specimen has been sealed in a matte, non yellowing lacquer which was done by the former owner of the mine. This will preserve the color and the metallic luster of the Copper but is not noticeable.
Condition: Excellent
