Ex. Norm Woods fron Clark collection, 1973 or earlier

Here is a real rarity from the long defunct copper mines of Michigan. This is the only specimen I have ever seen or heard of which has Analcime associated with Calcite with included Copper. It is unfortunate the mine was recorded with the specimen. The best known locations for Analcime specimen in the area are Phoenix and Copper Falls both of which have produced a few Calcite crystals with included Copper. The Analcime crystals are crudely formed with only a few distinguishable faces. The Analcime crystals formed on the surface of the Calcite along with small clear Quartz crystals, minor Epidote and an unidentified blue material which present as micro spherical aggerates. The Calcite is translucent rather than transparent but the brightly colored Copper shows through. It is unclear the meaning of "BR/'73" on the bottom of the thumbnail box; likely the year the specimen was recovered and possibly the initials of the person who collected the specimen. Also, it is unclear who the collector "Clark" was and the meaning of the cryptic "CIS".

Condition: Fairly Good

Flaws: There are some small chips on one of the edges of the Calcite crystal which also has some internal cleaves. The termination of the Calcite crystals is a contract point.
