Jeffrey Quarry, Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Quebec, Canada

Ex. Norm Woods

The specimen consists of massive Diopside covered on one side with elongated Diopside crystals with a square cross section. There are also smaller Diopside crystals covering approximately half the opposing side. The color is a light beige/gray with a hint of green in places. Some of the crystals have a high glassy luster and a few of the smaller ones are transparent. There is also some bright, apple green Chromian Grossular present mostly as micro crystals with a few small, crudely formed crystals on the side opposite the side with the majority of the crystals.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Many of the Diopside crystals are incomplete mostly because there are no terminations because of contact zones.
