Mineral Specimen #64 Cuprite with Malachite This specimen has one predominate crystal which is very good condition. The longest edge is 8mm. Because of its thickness, it does not transmit red when backlit. There is a smaller, thinner crystal on the back which does, as seen in the last photo (yes, there was a very bright light close to the specimen). The specimen is mostly Cuprite underneth the Malachite, and weighs 56 g. The Malachite is very lustrous. The light green is probably Chrysocolla. Ex. Steve Sarvis collection. Kolwezi, Katanga, Congo 9 x 8 x 5 cm
