Ex. Steve Pullman, Ex. Sid Williams

Ca2Mn3+3(SiO4)(Si2O7)(OH)3

A matrix specimen which includes reddish brown Macfallite, black Orientite and white Calcite. One side of the specimen has been sawn. A note on the location: it is not listed on mindat but is well known locally and is only a little over 1 km away from the type location, the old Manganese Mine. Both are surface locations and are the same deposit and specimens from the two locations are indistinguishable. Additionally, Sid Williams was well acquainted with the area and its mineralogy. He received a BS in geology and a MA in mineralogy at nearby Michigan Tech. After receiving a PhD in mineralogy from the University of Arizona, he returned to Michigan Tech. and an assistant professor.

Condition: Composed of massive material.

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
