Cu2FeSnS4

The Stannite in this specimen is very well crystalized for the species and actually makes up the underlying matrix. The Stannite is black in color with a metallic luster. Many of the crystal faces are triangular and have grown in a stepped habit. There is also a spherical assemblage of Stannite at one of the lower corners of the termination of the Quartz crystal for which the mine is well known. The Quartz crystal is transparent with a glassy luster and has small, black, crystals on its surfaces and included within the interior. These are presumably more Stannite. There are well formed, brassy golden colored Chalcopyrite crystals running in a line bisecting the specimen. There is also a silver colored, striated Arsenopyrite crystal with a high metallic luster on the edge of the specimen.

Condition: Excellent

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
