Mineral Specimen #6351 Twinned Calcite Crystals
Tsumeb, Namibia
4.5 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm
Sold
Ex. E. Morales, purchased from The Silver Peak, Tucson show, 1980
Well formed, colorless, twinned Calcite crystals with distinct striations which highlight the twinning structure of the crystals. The crystals have grown from a matrix of an unidentified, dark colored material with small crystals on the surface. There are very small, clear/colorless, micro crystals on the surfaces of the Calcite crystals. According to Morales' notes on the specimen, these are micro Duftite crystals. This does not seem correct since Duftite is a light green color even when present as vvery small crystals.
Condition: Very Good
Flaws: Very minor bruising in a couple places on the edges of the Calcite crystal.
