Ca6Al2(SO4)3(OH)12·26H2O

A piece of massive Ettringite which has an unusual tangerine orange color due to the presence of an unidentified material; the color of the Ettringite would otherwise be a bright yellow which was the case of the specimens from a small lot we bought at Denverin 2014. In places, the surface is covered with very small micro crystals which sparkle if exposed to a strong light source. There is an area on the surface where there is more of the reddish material.

Condition: Composed of massive material.

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
