Ex. Michigan College of Mines (now Michigan Technological University) from George English (1893-1898)

A relatively large specimen composed of a mass of compact, radiating, fibrous crystals of Pyrophyllite from a classic location. The color varies from nearly white to yellow/orange to burnt orange; the color likely due to iron oxides/hydroxides. The crystals have a high, glossy luster. This was a teaching specimen for the Michigan College of Mines which became Michigan Technological University in 1964. The George English label indicates the specimen was likely purchased between 1893 and 1898.

Condition: Composed of massive material.

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
