Ex. Josie Middleton from Rob Lavinsky

Ca3(SO4)[Si(OH)6](CO3) · 12H2O

A well formed, gemmy, double terminated crystal of the rare carbonate, Thaumasite, which is closely related to Ettringite. The color is a pastel yellow with a hint of green. One end of the crystal consists of a single, hexagonal termination. The other end is composed of multiple terminations. The crystal has a high luster and is transparent with the exception of one small area in the middle. The crystal was from a small find several years ago in which the crystals are considered the best ever found and dispersed by Rob Lavinsky. Josie purchased this specimen from his auction site.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Very minor chipping on terminations. On the larger termination, there are cleaves below the surface along one of the edges.
