Hessite - Ag₂Te

A classic and rare matrix Gold specimen from one of the northern most mines of the Colorado Mineral Belt.�The Gold is present as an aggregate of thick, rounded, wire crystals. There are more blebs of Gold throughout the matrix as well as veins of the rare silver telluride, Hessite. The bottom of the specimen has been sawed and polished which nicely displays the silver colored Hessite. Specimens from this long defunct mine are seldom available.
