Diallage was originally considered by a distinct species but is now considered a variety in the diopside-hedenbergite-augite solid-solution of the pyroxene group and is noted for showing prominent {001} parting. This specimen is a dark green/gray color with highly lustrous bronze colored flashes on the cleaved surfaces.
