1970s

There are a number of well formed Tennantite crystals on both sides of this specimen. The Tennantite crystals are on a bed of white colored Quartz crystals. The specimen is from a section between two vugs and is crystalized on both sides with a broken edge all the way around the specimen. There is another section rising perpendicularly from the body of the specimen which is crystallized on the raised edge. There are quite a few broken Chalcopyrite crystals along the edges of the specimen. The Chalcopyrite crystals are bright gold with s reddish iridescence in places. The Chalcopyrite crystals are in the middle of the Quartz indicating an earlier stage of development than the Tennantite. This is classic material from the EL Cobre mine.

Condition: Good

Flaws: The crystals are incomplete along the edges of the specimen.
