Mineral Specimen #6161    Shattuckite, Malachite

Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia

5.4 x 3.7 x 2.9 cm

Sold

Spherical aggregates of Shattuckite rest on blue/green color Chrysocolla. Most of the Shattuckite is a robin egg blue color with the section of one area where the color is a dark blue and the habit is fibrous. There are several concave casts on the surface which may be left from dissolved Malachite. The color is slightly darker around the edges of these casts.

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: The Chrysocolla has cracks in it. The casts at first glance appear to be damage, but are not.
