Mineral Specimen #6122 Quartz Crystals, Native Copper, Epidote, Other Unidentfied Species
Phoenix Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA
8.5 x 5.6 x 4.1 cm
Sold
An attractive specimen composed of white colored Quartz crystals, bright green pistachio colored Epidote, native Copper and pink/orange peach colored crystals perched on the Quartz crystals. These crystals were labeled as Adularia, but the habit does not seem right. Likely candidates for these crystals are some type of zeolite or Dolomite, both of which are found at the mine and both form at a later stage (which would be unlikely for Adularia). There is a second mystery mineral in the form of light gray crystals perched on the Quartz crystals. There are not many of these and they may be Calcite (testing with acid was ruled out because of its affects on the appearance of the Copper).
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: Some of the Quartz crystals are broken.
