Mineral Specimen #6100 Zoned Fluorite, Calcite
Auglaize Quarry, Defiance, Ohio
5.4 x 4.4 x 3.7 cm
Although the Auglaize quarry is most famous for iridescent Fluorite, zoned purple colored is on occasion found at a different part of the quarry. The single crystal on this specimen, is well formed and is transparent with distinct phantom zoning. The surface is glossy in luster and is complex in structure. There is a small indented area at one of the bottom corners which is a cast from another, now absent, Fluorite crystal. Complimenting the Fluorite are well formed, elongated Calcite crystals which are a very pale yellow/tan color.
Condition: Very Good
