Elongated Ilvaite crystals with boxy terminations are partially covered with a thin layer of Hedenbergite which varies in color from a dark brown to forest green. The underlying Ilvaite is a glossy black color. Curved aggregations of stepped Arsenopyrite have grown on the ends of some of the Ilvaite crystals. The Arsenopyrite has a silver color and a metallic luster.
Flaws: One of the Ilvaite crystals is not terminated.
