Clear to white colored Calcite crystals of three habits including one nice twinned crystal which approaching a butterfly twin for which the quarry is noted. The Calcite crystals are well formed with a bit of melted appearance and have a high luster. Also present is Marcasite with a high metallic luster and in remarkably good condition considering the specimen had been stored in a garage for 50 years in damp southern Michigan.
Condition: Good
Flaws: There is a contact line approximately 4 cm long (see third photo). There is cleaved chip on the corner of one of the larger crystals (see third photo). The twinned crystal has a chipped area near the base on one side and also has a ffew internal cleaves.
