Mineral Specimen #5481 Druze Quartz over Chrysocolla
Old Dominion Mine, Buffalo Hill, Old Dominion vein system, Globe, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona
4.5 x 2.3 x 1.6 cm
Sold
A thin layer of sparkly, druze Quartz over bright blue Chrysocolla with a botryoidal habit. The Quartz is actually colorless but appears light blue in color due to the underlying Chrysocolla. Please note: in the photos, there appears to be a blackish colored material at the base, between the Quartz crystals - this is barely visible, live, in person, but from some reason, is much more visible in the photos. The underlying Chrysocolla has a coating of an unidentified material which varies in color from light to dark green with the bright blue Chrysocolla peaking through in places.
Condition: Excellent
Flaws: The underlying matrix is a little crumbly.
