Mineral Specimen #5333    Spessartine Garnet, Smoky Quartz, Microcline, Hyaline Opal

Tongbei, Fujian, China

Small, gemmy, orange colored Spessartine crystals are perched on black colored Smoky Quartz crystals and light colored Microcline crystals. Also present in places, is a thin layer of Hyaline Opal which is not noticeable until exposed to SW UV when it fluoresces bright green. Also, under SW, the Microcline fluoresces a pale pink/red color. One note: although not visible in the photos, when back lit, many of the Quartz crystals have lighter colored phantoms.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are some broken Smoky Quartz crystals along the edges of the specimen.
