Mineral Specimen #51 Fluorite Stalactite with Galena
Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, Weardale, North Pennines, Co. Durham, England
This is an outstanding specimen. Like all Weardale Fluorite, the fluorescence is a brilliant blue. The Fluorite crystals exhibit penetration twinning. Some of the crystals are gemmy and others contain embedded Quartz crystals. There is no damage to any of the crystals. The Galena crystals are crude octahedra. Ex: Steve Sarvis collection.
