Mineral Specimen #5185    "The Bolt " Multi Generational Twinned Calcite Scepter, Sphalierite

Bor Pit (Boron Pit), Dal'negorsk B deposit, Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

This specimen resembles a large, hexagonal bolt. The threads of the bolt are composed of twinned crystals with thin edges and the head is a twinned crystal with large, flat sides. There is a druze of micro Calcite crystals on the undersides of these crystals. Additionally, there are white to clear stacks of twinned Calcite crystals perched on the sides of the larger crystals. The color is straw yellow with some reddsih tints due to iron oxides. Although not depiected in a photo, the bottom crystal is compelte.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are a few places where there is slight bruising.
