Mineral Specimen #5172    Polished Turquoise

Harts Range, Northern Territory, Australia

Ex. Vivian Randall, Ex. Rocksmiths, purchased at the Dearborn, Michigan show, May, 1992.

A relatively large polished Turquoise specimen from Australia. The color is a very attractive light blue with white are darker blue areas. The Turquoise is a thin seam up to 1 cm in depth. The surface has been polished to a high finish. The Turquoise is very solid and sturdy and not crumbly and chalky like most Turquoise found in Australia. A note on the location: on mindat, the Northern Territory is listed but not the Hart's Range. However, Rocksmith's were very reputable and well respected dealers.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are a couple of chipped areas on the poloished surface.
