Mineral Specimen #5133 Fluorite on Barite with Double Terminated Calcite
Walker vein, Caldwell Stone Company Quarry, Danville, Boyle Co., Kentucky
A multitude of cubic Fluorite crystals have grown on the sides of elongated stacks of thin, bladed white colored Barite crystals. The Fluorite crystals are for the most part a light purple color; although for the majority of the crystals the purple color is just an edging with the interior of the crystal being a grayish yellow color. Some of the crystals, notably on one side of the specimen, are purple throughout but with a darker purple edging. The Barite on this speicmen is very good for the location.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: Many of the Fluorite crystals are damaged. One of the Calcite crystals has a cleave on one its termination.
