Mineral Specimen #5116    Spessartien Garnet with Smoky Quartz

Tongbei, Fujian, China

A cabint sized specimen on which one side is almost completely covered with Spessartine garnets which are a rich dark orange color. The crystals are well formed with smooth very lustrous surfaces and most are gemmy. This location has been closed since 2008 and the prices have been climbing rapidly in recent years.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There is one small contact area. The rest of the garnets on that side of the specimen are in very good to excellent condition.

11.8 x 8.7 x 5.2 cm
The two largest crystals measure 6 mm across. Most of the rest of the crystals are 2 to 4 mm across.
