Mineral Specimen #5087    Plumbogummite Pseduomorph after Pyromorphite

Yangshuo Mine, Yangshuo Co., Guilin Pref., Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China

6.5 x 4.3 x 3.4 cm
2.6 x 1.7 x 1.3 in

Sold

PbAl3(PO4)(PO3OH)(OH)6

Powder blue colored Plumbogummite has partially replaced lime green colored Pyromorphite. The Plumbogummite has a very interesting skeletal structure. Many of the crystals retain a core of Pyromorphite. The Plumbogummite fluoresces bright green under SW UV and less so under LW (the photos were done under SW).

Condition: Good

Flaws: The Plumbogummite is missing in places revealing the Pyromorphite core; most of this is not damage but natural.
