Mineral Specimen #5: Herkimer Diamond Cluster on Black Druze Ace of Diamonds Mine, Middleville, Town of Newport, Herkimer County, New York, USA Clear crystals on a bed of black druze. The black is due to carbon inclusions. This specimen was collected prior to 1972. Material similar to this was found in the summer of 1967 - it is highly likely this was when this specimen was collected. The quality of this specimen is very good with very minor flaws. The largest crystal at the top has internal fracturing causing rainbowing. The second largest crystal (on the right) has a small chip down a little from the top. Overall, a very nice specimen, unusual for the location. 5 x 3 x 4.5 cm Price: $50 50-99
