Mineral Specimen #4987    Sphalerite variety: Marmatite

Vtoroy Sovietsky Mine, Dalnegorsk, Russia

This specimen is an unusual, highly modified, complex, elongated Spahlerite crystal. The color is jet black and has the surface have a high, glossy luster.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Two surfaces are cleavage planes - best seen in the upper left of the specimen in the third photo.
