Mineral Specimen #494    Spessartine Garnet on Muscovite

Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

The Garnet crystals on this specimen are well formed, gemmy and have a deep red color. The Muscovite crystals are also a very interesting shape, with the overall appearance a bit like an arrowhead. There is also a minor amount of Schorl Tourmaline embedded in the Muscovite at the contact end. The specimen is in very good condition.
