Mineral Specimen #4930    Fluorapatite, Albite variety Cleavelandite

Golconda pegmatite, Golconda district, Governador Valadares, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Hexagonal, blue colored Apatite crystals are nestled amongst bladed Albite crystals. The Apatite crystals are well formed but have a dull luster. The Albite crystals are also well formed and have a slight blue/green tint which is more pronounced when backlit. There are also a few patches of purple colored Lepidolite.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are a few internal cleaves in the Albite crystals.
