Cairns Bay, Flinders area, Victoria, Australia

Thin, needle like crystals of Natrolite fills a fissure in basalt from a classic Australian location for the species. There are also small vesicles filled with massive, orange colored Gmelinite, mostly on the back of the specimen and not visible on the photos. There appears to be some clear glue on the back of the specimen which seems to be have been applied to stabilize the specimen where cracks are visible on the back, which do not come through to the from the specimen.

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: Nothing appreciable with the exception that the crystals are damaged' along the edges of the Natrolite mineralization.
