Mineral Specimen #4814 Blue Anatase, Brookite, Quartz
Monte Bianco Massif (Mont Blanc Massif). Courmayeur, Aosta Valley, Italy
In the center of the surface of this specimen, rests a well formed, double terminated Anatase crystal which is a dark, midnight blue color. The crystal has sharp edges and terminations, is striated and has a high luster. The Anatase crystal rests on a bed of small white to clear colored Quartz crystals. There is also present a thin, platy, partial crystal of Brookite which is light brown in color. There is also an unidentified material of a yellow/tan color and some green micro crystals which are likely Chlorite.
Flaws: There is minor damage to the Brookite and the unidentified yellow/green material.
