This specimen consists of an overgrowth of second generation white Calcite over Chocolate Calcite. Because of the white overgrowth, such material was called Frosty or Frosted Calcite. This specimen is actually a cast after a Selenite blade. There does appear to be some of the Selenite still intact within the void. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage. Originally, the specimen was glued onto styrofoam and there is still a small amount attached.
