Mineral Specimen #4705 Erythrite, Cobaltite
Sara Alicia Mine, San Bernardo, Mun. de Alamos, Sonora, Mexico
6.9 x 5.3 x 3.5 cm
2.7 x 2.1 x 1.4 in
Small crystals of dark rosy magenta colored Erythrite crystals cover much of this specimen. Under close examination, the crystals can be seen to have two habits, needle like and bladed. This is a classic, old Mexican location for this species. What is quite unusual for this specimen is the additional presence of massive Cobaltite in the matrix. The specimen is on the larger size for the location.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: There are a number of bruised areas.
