Mineral Specimen #4669    Selenite

Baja California, Mexico

A cluster of off white colored, bladed Selenite crystals with an old label that states the color as pink, but the color seems to have faded with time. What is quite interesting is the fluorescent properties under SW. The specimen fluoresces a creamy/yellow but the interior of the broken crystal is an orange color (please note: in person, the additional rings of color around the orange color are not noticeable but is rather an artifact of editing the colors of the picture).

Condition: Good

Flaws: No damage with the exception of the broken crystal which exhibits the orange colored UV fluorescence.

4.7 x 4.2 x 3 cm
