Mineral Specimen #4526    Manganoan Boxwork Calcite, Quartz, Sphalerite

Madan, Bulgaria

7.2 x 4.3 x 2.5 cm
2.8 x 1.7 x 1 in

Platy Calcite crystals which have grown unto small, thin, elongated Quartz crystals. The Calcite is a light pastel orange/pink color. The Quartz crystals are white to clear on the side with the Calcite. On the other side of the specimen, the color of the Quartz is tinted a light blue/green with micro inclusions of Chlorite and the crystals are small and crude, more like a druze. Below the Quartz are unidentified Sulfides. Gary Beaman bought this specimen approximately 20 years ago from us. Included is an old, handwritten label of ours from which he cut off the header and footer with all of the dealer information. This is something he did with all his labels. It was I who glued the specimen onto the clear plastic acrylic base and I distinctly remember discussing the specimen with Gary when he bought and how he liked its mounting.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
