Ex. Kirk Valuet

This specimen is a bit of a mystery. It is a very nice and intriguing specimen with an unusual association of species which is definitely not from Ohio. I am at a loss to identify the location. The Calcite is colorless and for the most clear with included, small sulfide crystals. There are more sulfide crystals scattered around the specimen. The sulfides have a tarnish which ranges from golden to purple/blue. There is one cubic crystal which does look like Pyrite in habit. Elsewhere, the sulfides are in rounded masses. The color is reminiscent of Bornite. Another curious aspect of the specimen are the smaller, light orange colored crystals which appear to be a zeolite, possibly Stilbite. The matrix is composed of white, banded Chalcedony which forms stacked, rounded mounds with a micro druze of Quartz on the surface which is in turn is mostly covered with an off white colored material (possibly Calcite).

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: There is some very minor bruising on the largest Calcite crystal and one internal cleave.
