Erongo Mountain, Erongo Region, Namibia

One of the larger crystals has some nice zoning when viewed from the end. The Goshenite crystals are well formed with flat sides and terminations and good luster. Numerous black colored, small colored Tourmaline crystals are on the surfaces of the Goshenite crystals as well as the Quartz matrix. A note on the Tourmaline: both Schorl and Foitite have been identified at the location with some crystals phasing from one species to the other; there is no way to tell the difference without analysis.
